Those are just three words Nicole K., Nail Technician at Split Enz, uses to describe herself.
Born and raised in Gloucester, Nicole discovered her love of nails at a young age. She always loved doing her own nails and studied in the Nail Tech program at Gloucester High School. While in high school she began working at Naturals, a nail salon focused on natural nails, where she remained through high school.
“That’s where it all started. That’s where I learned everything that I know now,” she said.
Upon graduation, Nicole earned her “Nail Technician License” through the state boards. Shortly after, she landed a job at Atir Natural Nail Clinic, known for natural nails, using no artificial products.
“That’s where I really learned more of the anatomy of the nail and the health of the nail and the things to help you grow your own natural nail because that was our whole basis,” she said. “Instead of covering it up with artificial nails, you grow your own 10 healthy nails!”
While Nicole’s focus is on natural nails, she proudly also offers customers shellac polishes as well.
After leaving Atir, she returned to work at Naturals for the next two years. Naturals owner, Mary Keith Cramer, retired after 15 successful years and Natural’s closed.
Spliz Enz Salon is pleased to have Nicole on the team, brining years of experience to our clients.
“I love the fact that they’ve all welcomed me with open arms. It’s been amazing. Everybody is so wonderful and community oriented.”
“I enjoy teaching people how to take care of their own nails. A lot of us are taught to shampoo our hair or brush our teeth every day but not many of us are taught to do our nails. It’s not just about beauty and special occasions, its about taking care of yourself.”
In her free time, Nicole is a self-proclaimed beach bum! She also enjoys kayaking and any outdoor activities.
